Parent & Me: Pollination Exploration!

 Join us for a fun, hands-on garden adventure where kids and their grown-ups get to explore the world of pollinators together! Families will head outdoors to search for buzzing bees, fluttering butterflies, and curious birds as they move through the Garden, discovering which flowers these pollinators love most. Along the way, children will use special exploration materials to look closely at plants, make observations, and draw what they find—while adults join in the fun by guiding, spotting, and learning right alongside them. Expect playful activities, movement through the Garden, and plenty of “look what I found!” moments that encourage curiosity and connection with nature. Recommended for ages 5 & up!

**All children must be accompanied by an adult chaperone, tickets are required for each child and chaperones.

Paint & Sip: 

Grab a brush, sip on a glass of wine or a non-alcoholic apple highball, and let the Garden be your muse! In this guided painting experience, a skilled instructor will walk you step-by-step through creating your very own masterpiece, inspired by a special corner of the Garden. You’ll learn fun facts about the plants you’re painting—and once your canvas is complete, you can even wander out to see the real-life view that sparked your art. Each session highlights a different spot in the Garden, so stay tuned to see what scene we’ll be painting next!

Come meet our tropical butterflies in their enclosed habitat!

This add-on ticket allows entry into the butterfly pavilion. Please check the day and time of your SOAR Add-On selection to make sure it is coordinated with your General Admission ticket.

Your SOAR ticket time is the time you enter the pavilion. You can arrive at the host and nectar garden up to 10 minutes early to ensure you see the native butterflies and caterpillars outside of the pavilion. 

Sunset Series Jimmy Buffett Night

Nature Waves: Sound Bathing at South Coast Botanic Garden

Join us this spring for a deeply restorative sound healing experience set within our tranquil Botanic Garden. Surrounded by nature, gentle vibrations from singing bowls, gongs, and chimes will guide you into a profound state of calm and balance as the garden itself becomes part of the experience. Led by Andrea Morales, a certified sound healer, this immersive session gently supports relaxation and renewal, helping you slow down, release tension, and reconnect to the wonders of nature. Through sound and stillness, you’ll leave feeling grounded, refreshed, and deeply restored. After the sound bath, guests are invited to enjoy a complimentary matcha while continuing to explore the Garden at their own pace.

Botanical Keepsakes: Pressed Flower Frames  

Create a meaningful keepsake inspired by the beauty of the Garden. In Botanical Keepsakes: Pressed Flower Frames, guests will design a 5x7 floating picture frame using pressed flowers collected from our grounds, arranging blooms and foliage around a favorite photo placed at the center. Bring along a favorite printed photo if you have one (up to 4x6 is best). Don’t worry if you don’t—we’re happy to take a Polaroid for you at the workshop.  Along the way, you’ll learn how to press your own flowers at home so you can continue creating long after the workshop ends. Thomas Dambo’s TROLLS: A Field Study

Grab your walking stick and join us for a Troll Trek - a whimsical and wonderful walking tour! This ticket includes an exclusive guided tour of Thomas Dambo’s TROLLS: A Field Study as well as General Admission. On this 40-minute romp through the wilder side of our Garden, you’ll follow your Tour Guide to discover and meet the Twelvelings as they collect data for their Field Study.

Garden Members receive free General Admission and a discount on Troll Trek tickets. All discounts will be applied after you've selected your tickets and clicked "Add to Cart." Please make sure you are logged in BEFORE adding the tickets to your cart, or the Member discount will not apply. 

Accessibility Notes:
Troll Treks are guided walking tours that explore remote and rugged areas of the Garden. The route includes uneven terrain, narrow paths and slopes. The Trek requires the ability to walk and stand for the duration of the experience.

Guests who are unable to navigate the walking route may participate in the Troll Trek Mobility Ride. This option can accommodate guests using wheelchairs and other mobility devices. Please visit our Accessibility page for details and availability.

Experience Instructions:
We recommend arriving at least 30 minutes prior to your scheduled Troll Trek time to allow for parking, entry and possible busy conditions upon arrival. Your ticket time indicates when your guided experience begins. Late arrivals are unable to be accommodated.

Due to the limited availability and run of the Troll Trek experience, tickets are non-refundable.

The Canopy Club: A Not-So-Secret Dance Party in the Woods

Step into a hidden woodland speakeasy and dance beneath the trees at The Canopy Club. GYM: GOAT Yoga & Mimosas

Take your gym outside this spring and experience movement in a whole new way! Join us for GYM: Goat Yoga & Mimosas, a guided 60-minute outdoor yoga session led by a skilled instructor—made extra memorable by the playful company of friendly goats who love to wander, cuddle, and occasionally strike a pose alongside you. This 16-page booklet includes a map of Thomas Dambo’s Trolls: A Field Study, along with information about each troll featured in the exhibit and fun facts about the trees used to create their hair. Guests can also join the study by completing the fill-in field guide page. Best of all, it makes a wonderful keepsake from your visit to the exhibit and the Garden.

Butterfly Feeding Experience

Want an even more unique SOAR experience? Guests will again have the opportunity to feed our butterflies! Purchase the Butterfly Feeding Experience for an additional $6 and you can use a flower vial filled with nectar to use while inside the pavilion to help entice butterflies to come close to you for the optimum and most immersive experience. There will be one vial per Butterfly Feeding Experience ticket holder, which is returned at the end of the experience.
